Intermittantly, my system will hang on shutdown giving me an error stating that CPQMIXER_APM_WINDOWS will not end. Another program that causes the same problem is 'CPQEADM.EXE. I can see this 2nd program in Task Manager. I manually terminate the program and shutdown continues. Sometimes very slowly.

I am using a Compaq keyboard in a USB port and I suspect that has something to do with these files.

This is just a nuissence problem that would be nice to eliminate. Any thoughts?

CPQEADM.EXE. pertains to the easy access key of your keyboard. This could be a corrupted driver. If you still have the driver disk for this try uninstalling the old drivers and reinstall the new ones.

If you don't use the keyboard features you can just delete them as they will not affect the operating system.

I would uninstall the keyboard drivers, via Device Manager...then reboot and reinstall same.

Louis

Or use a standard keyboard.

Thanks folks.

I updated to Compaq drivers and will have to wait to see what happens.

I was here a couple months ago and received your help then At that time, I updated to the Compaq drivers. I'm not sure why they reverted back.

Hopefully this is the fix. I appreciate you help!
