Anybody else getting hit with a ton of backscatter spam lately? (Bouncebacks to spoofed return addresses with subjects like Delivery Status Notification Failure, Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender, etc.). I'm suddenly getting hundreds a day – Monday morning I had 600+ in my inbox. I've written some Outlook rules that catch most of it, but it's still become a huge problem.
From what I'm reading, the only real solution is to configure servers not to reply to emails to nonexistent users. But this would require a coordinated effort across enterprises, and it wouldn’t eliminate backscatter spam to legitimate addresses.
Anybody else noticed a surge lately?

I am, this is the same exact issue I'm having with my hotmail account. Even though I've changed the password and screened m system and applications with my antivirus package I'm still getting them in my box, and they are in my sent box also.
