Here is a blast from the past for our Windows 2000 and 95 users.

MSConfig for Windows 2000 and Windows 95

QUOTE("From Perfectdrivers.com")
Some msconfig facts:

-msconfig was included in some versions of Windows 95.

-msconfig was in Windows 98 and 98se.

-msconfig was not included in NT nor Windows 2000.

-msconfig is included in ME and XP.

-You can copy (or download) msconfig and put it in Windows 95 if it's not already there. Copy it into the \windows\system folder.

-You can add msconfig to Windows 2000. Put it in the c:\winnt\system32\ (c:\winnt\ works also) folder.

I've been using OpenOffice for a while now. It does have a couple of minor drawbacks, but all-in-all it beats spending hundred$$ for MS Office.

Is there a thread for software reviews? If not, perhaps I'll start an OOo thread.

MattV I have been debating posting a few of my reviews here as well (I do member reviews for another forum, since I got through so many pieces of hardware and linux distros). Just wasnt sure of how well it would do here.

Have you used this software? How long did you use it?
The reason I ask is I have never heard of it.
Are there any reviews about the program

Wanna try it and find out? I download and try a lot of software. I'm fussy - if I need a program to handle a specific task, then I want it to be able to handle it, without a bunch of manual steps or other muckin' around.

One thing that really annoys me is when, after uninstalling a program, I get a message telling me that not all of the program could be uninstalled automatically, so you'll have to find this folder and that file and delete them manually. Any program that does that gets an automatic D- from me. And if it won't do what it's supposed to without a lot of foolishness - F.

Actually, I wrote it. I've used it for almost 3 years now. *grin*
I'm sorry you haven't heard of it, It's available on Ultimate Boot CD, as well as many sites; A google.com search would show you many. However, I do have a few favorites that have reviews your welcome to view:

http://www.completelyfreesoftware.com/link...w31_BUGHUN.html

I'm also linked from http://mysteryfcm.co.uk/?mode=Tickets under the friends section... I have a few more reviews and awards listed here: http://bughunter.it-mate.co.uk/Awards.htm

I'm hosted by the fellows at www.it-mate.co.uk; friends of temerc.com.

If theres anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask me!

Thanks

No, actually that is quite informative and clears everything up, at least for me.
Thank you for the detailed reply.
