Newbie here,
You might want to post the actual phrase that appears on the sceen. The Win32 file is one that MS modified after Windows XP SP2, so there are many reasons it could occur. What SP are you running on ? When does the error occur and what does the message say on the screen?
MS Support Center can be usefull: http://support.microsoft.com/ph/1173
ETA; there seem to be a number of ways to get this error.
http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?qid=2811&query=generic+host+process+for+win32&catalog=LCID%3D1033&mode=r
If you are running SP2, I would update it, then update to SP3, my advice should in no way be taken too seriously.
