After reading for a bit, I returned to my computer to find that it was frozen. I restarted to also find that the Intel Boot Manager was trying to establish a link. Something called "PXE-E61: Media test failure", check cable and "PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent" and finally "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key". What is happening? How can I fix this. Thanks in advance.

Those PXE error messages...are often a sign that the CMOS battery is failing, which may cause the BIOS boot option to change to what it waw when XP was originally installed.
If this is an OEM (HP, Lenovo, etc.) system, network install may have been the original option.
In any case, I would check the current boot options reflected in the BIOS.
