Is everything updated as far as Windows Updates and and Drivers for your computer?

XP Home and XP Pro are the same OS built on the same kernel, so I ma unsure why you thought going to XP Home would solve your issues.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection 2:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix: gateway.2wire.net
IP Address: 192.168.1.66
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254

Did you configure the router for that default gateway IP? Normally the default gateway is (in this case) 192.168.1.1 not 192.168.1.254 - I would go back to your router and reset (factory reset) it and try and reconnect to see if it makes a difference. I know that you can change the default gateway to whatever you want (except a known IP that is being used), but I would start with factory defaults and also try just connecting into the modem. If the modem\router is supplied by the ISP - I would go back to them.

You are quite mistaken it varies from router to router. I have seen 192.168.1.100, 192.168.0.1, and various others. Its best to contact the user manual.

Is the router connected via incoming telephone line?

Well, to start it depends on the router, each router resets differently, but for the most part if you hold the reset button in and apply power, it will reset. Check the model number in google and do a search for reset & factory.

Questions:
Are you using DSL or Broadband - in either case, because you have a 192... IP, I am assuming that you have a router, but is it provided by your ISP is the question. If it is not intergrated into the modem, please try and plug your network cable directly into the modem (if it has a phone line attached, you will need to open the modem and remove the batteries, as that will keep it from power cycling) and do a power cycle (make sure all the lights are off) and then apply power to the unit and see what happens. If it works then we know that the router is causing your issues.

EDIT: Removed HJT log, issues don't appear to be malware problem but rather connectivity issues and possibly hardware issues ~ Hamluis.
