Internet Wont Work No Matter What Internet Connection Problems

Hi, I recently installed XP Home on my computer after not being able to get a connection on XP Pro. I dont know what the issue is but I cannot connect to the internet for more than a few minutes and then connection dies. I need some serious help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to bc. What is your internet connection? Do you use a cable modem, router? More info on your setup can help people figure it out.

Sometimes I use wireless connection. Other times i use an LAN line or a Router. It kinda depends where I am. I have CLEARwire internet. My laptop is a Toshiba Tecra. XP OS Home Edition.

ok, if you go to start, and run, and type
cmd
and press enter then type
ipconfig
what does it say?

YES IT DOES. I tried several different approaches I found online but none of it helped. I have even scrubbed the harddrive and reinstalled the OS several times.

When you say, connection dies, does it mean, your browser stops finding web pages?
Any errors displayed?
Did you try different browser?
Did you try "ping" command to see, if the connection is really lost?

If this is a brand new install - chances are it might be a hardware issue - do you have another NIC?

Yeah I keep getting browser errors. Saying page cant load or no internet connection. However I do have an excellent connection when I go to Network Connections. This happens in Google Chrome and IE

Is this desktop, or laptop?
Wired, or wireless connection?

1. Click Start>Run (Start>"Start search" in Vista).

2. Type in (or copy and paste):

cmd /c ping google.com>%temp%\$.$&notepad %temp%\$.$

and press Enter.

3. Notepad will open.

4. Copy all text in Notepad ([Ctrl-A], then [Ctrl-C]), and then post it (paste = [Ctrl-V]) in your next reply.

==========================================================================

Go Start>Run ("Start search" in Vista), type in:
cmd
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).

At Command Prompt, paste this:
ipconfig /all>c:\ipconfig_all.txt&notepad c:\ipconfig_all.txt&exit
Hit Enter.

Copy and paste what you see in Notepad into a Reply here.

@Broni it happens on both a wired and wireless connection although it is worse in wireless. I have a XP Home OS so I need to know how to run test that way
