BleepingComputer.com: Toshiba Projector Turns Off By Itself

This is a Toshiba TLP 671 projector and has worked perfectly for years for my company. Just a couple weeks ago this indicator popped up ">1000H" meaning the bulb had been used over 1000 hours. My boss told me to order a new one, so I did. When I stick the new bulb in, it will start up fine and be working for about 2-3 minutes and then the projector will shut off. I can turn it back on but it will only work for the 2-3 minutes again. I have put the old bulb back in and it works just fine for hours but I can't use the new one. Is this just a bad bulb or is something else wrong here?
