Does my computer have a pci-e slot?

but I need a pci-e slot.

If you could tell me what kind of slot I have and whether or not this graphics card would work that'd be great. Thanks guys and yes I'm new to the forum. Hey :thumbsup:

An Intel 865 based motherboard will utilise AGP and PCI slots, not PCIe. You'd need to look for an AGP video card, but to get exact specifications for the motherboard you'd need to ID the board by sight or another diagnostic utility, D865GVLC doesn't register with Intel as a variant. If GVLC indicates an OEM board supplied to another manufacturer, then knowing the model number of the system should let us find its specs.

So I would need an agp card. Damn, I'll probably just buy a new computer then. What were you saying I should do? Was a little overwhelmed. Thanks.

If you want to utilize PCI express and plan on buying a new computer you can ignore what he said.

If you would like to know what he said anyways, here's a quick gist.

The model provided by CPU-z does not register with Intel. Thus in order to get the necessary model you would have to either use a different diagnostic tool or open up your computer and read the model directly off the motherboard.

Yes, if you want the latest video for demanding games, go for a new computer.

If you still want to get a better card for that computer, let us know more about it.

Here is a Nvidia AGP graphics card or ATI
In my opinion i would get the ATI.

Would it be worth it to upgrade to a better agp card?

I'm thinking about going with the HIS Radeon 4670. Seems like a great card but I need a 400 watt power supply. How do I know if I have that?
