Hello to all
I have a Acer aspire 5735 laptop that I am working on, now I can't seem to fix the dvd drive.
The Dvd drive has the drivers installed, device manager says its okay, and when I put a cd in the light does turn green, and I hear the
drive spin for less than 1 second and it does that 3 times. Then it does not do anything else.
I also went into computer trying to manually open a CD with data but it ejects the drive saying "Insert disc"
I think that the lens is bad and that is why it never reads the cd's
Any suggestions??
Thank-you

Hi Jucyboy
Hows the shop going?
Have you cleaned the lens yet?
Try this as well
Your CD or DVD drive can't read or write media

Hi Guys
Well I am very busy with the shop, however sometimes it can get crazy because I am very young and inexperienced as far as business goes.
But I think my patience and persistence will pay of some day, I just got to keep going....
Thanks for remembering and the support!
Anyways the Computer can't read any CD's every time I insert a CD it says insert disc..??
I used many types of media CD's and software. I even tried to boot of the CD drive and it just will not read anything. It spins once or twice and that is it.
I will clean up the lens and read up on the link.

When you work for yourself its always crazy!
But its a good kind of crazy!
Glad you are giving it a go and that it seems to be working out for you.
Have you reseated the drive yet?
Is it IDE or SATA?
