I have an inventory list with the dates each item in the inventory has been purchased. I'm being requested to generate a report that lists items only purchased in 2006 and earlier.

The only type of report I've been able to generate is the one that has ALL the inventory, with ALL the dates. How do I narrow my report to only show items with a value in the date column of 12.31.2006 and earlier?

Don't know if your still looking for a solution for this, but a way to filter dates would be to create a query and then base a report on that query. By putting the column data you want in the query, then enter the Query design view and add either < 01/01/2007 or <= 31/12/2006 under Criteria of the date column you want to filter, that should give you what's needed.
