To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Hi, 1st time listener long time caller...

My laptop (Dell Inspirion 9300) was recently infected with the "animalware doctor" (sp?) program. I first noticed this about a week ago, but it looked like a legit Microsoft product so I ignored it for awhile...until it would not go away...and then I figured it was not a legit program. I knew it was bad because of all the pop-ups, and because of the fact that I could not delete the program. I did not use my laptop everyday this past week so that is why it took me so long to recognize the problem.

Anyway, I logged-on this evening and the malware is gone, or so it seems. No more bogus "animalware doctor" icon in the lower right-hand corner. No more unexpected pop-ups beckoning me to upgrade. No more window collapses.

I've had a subscription to McAfee for the past 6 months. So, my question is: did this program get taken-out some how by McAfee?? Is it dormant? Should I call the Geek Squad?

Thanks, all.
