SP3 WinLogon.exe error Windows XP SP3 gives error on login

Faulting application , version 0.0.0.0, faulting module winlogon.exe, version 5.1.2600.5512, fault address 0x0002e045

I would try a reboot, and mash F8 during the boot process. Select "Last know good configuration" and if that doesn't work try "Safe-mode". Run an anti-virus scan in whatever mode works (preferably Safe-Mode).

After this I would run "sfc.exe /scannow" from the run dialog in either mode (you may need an XP CD for this).

What is the faulting application in the error message?

Check Event Viewer for the detail.
