Fading Taskbar My taskbar keeps fading at random times

I search and have found nothing related to my problem. My PC starts fine but after a few seconds the taskbar dims. Whats wrong?

XP Pro
version 2002
SP3

Looks to me like its something being done with software on your computer.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Your taskbar isn't actually "Dimming", it's actually a transparancy overly, from what appears to be a task starting on boot. Your image shows the string "SEO Doctor". This is a plugin for firefox. If you aren't using it, try uninstalling this plugin from Add/Remove Programs and see if the issue goes away. You are seeing the bottom part of a window in "transparency mode". Some people like this kind of eye candy effect, personally I find it confusing and annoying to see through a window to the windows underneath.
