Did you use the online or off line installer.

I used offline for the #'s quoted in post 28. Just for giggles (& boredom) I uninstalled 6.22, then reinstalled using the ONline installer. Your (educated) guess was correct:

The folder using the ONline install was 9.3 MB smaller. Only thing is, with the offline install, there's no prompt for the Yahoo! toolbar :thumbdown: that's present in the online install.

A question if I may regarding your practice of blocking the storing of Java temp files--is this purely for security reasons, or is there a performance gain by doing so? I regularly delete the Java temp files (using CCleaner) not from the Control Panel > Java > Temporary Internet Files > applet, but I have never chosen to uncheck "Keep temporary files..."

In my case it is for security reasons. My very first virus, many years ago, came in via a Java exploit and resided in these files.

Researching how to remove it is how I came upon this little tweak. It has served me well to date.
