Forum Rules

When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Over the past few days I've experienced more BSOD than in the past five years of owning my HP Media Center PC. The erorrs so far are:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_MORE
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR; Stop 0x0000007A
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR; Stop 0x00000077

win32k.sys
ftdisk.sys
atapi.sys

The only recent changes made to my system have been a windows update (security), uninstallation of Norton Internet Security 2005, and the installation of CPU-Z. I'm curious as to what the problem could be. I've ran MEMTest86 and my RAM appears to be working properly. My latest BSOD appeared during a disk check at start up. My internal HDD (WD2500JD) is quiet full at the moment and I wonder if it's a disk problem. OR, maybe my system knows I'm looking at upgrading and is pissed, lol.

You might read what Wiki says about the known problems of using Memtest86, rather than Memtest86+.

Memtest86 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memtest

As for your errors...I suggest the following.

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html.

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When scanning is done, Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items.

Save the report as BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content and paste it into your next reply.

As a side note, I just finished removing all hardware from my PC case and dusting 5 years worth the dust out of all components. I thought I might have an overheating problem, but either way my PC case is clean!!!

I think that you may be infected...I'm going to move you to the Am I Infected forum where more knowledge rules ...and a closer look can be made by the personnel there.

I thought I had fixed my problems, but issues still persist. I have fully cleaned the innards of my PC (5 years worth the dust out of my heat sink). I have had zero crashes since my last post. I have also ran a virus scan, organized and moved large files freeing up 60% of my internal hard disk space, AND ran defraging tools until it no longer said I should defrag at current volume.

Still, my PF Usage seems high (850/2440M) and now I get glitches when playing back recorder TV programs or when I full screen a YouTube video. I'd rather not reinstall windows, but I'm at the end of my knowledge base for troubleshooting this problem.

Oh, and as always HELPPPPP!!!!
