So, I'm going to be recycling some old computers soon and was looking for a free program to wipe and purge the hard drive. A friend mentioned WipeDisk, but I thought I would pose the question to the venerable sages here if it is a good wiping program and if not, what they might recommend.

I've used Wipedisk for a couple of year and have no complaints about it.

This program overwrite the entire hdd with junk data making it nearly impossible to retrieve any data afterward.
