Having fooled around with some some windows defender / windows firewall settings in windows 7 it is plain to see that these programs are becoming more verbose in their options and configuration (a far cry from the win defender/firewall of XP). That being the case, is it unreasonable to expect a feasible (and working) security software suite to come from microsoft in the near future or will 3rd party solutions always be better? Will 3rd party security suites be better because they each have their own strengths and vulnerabilities versus a more universal microsoft suite who's vulnerabilities could be exploited on a greater scale (if that makes sense).
food for thought...
