This has happenend on two different networks using the same computer. The computer has a fresh copy on windows xp installed. All antivirus scans are negative. But the webpages either won't load or the green bar stops half way, or it takes several minutes for a page to load. It is equal with internet explorer or firefox. It happens with either network adapter card (the on board one and a new one I installed.) I'm at a loss. The speed always shows 100mps. Thanks in advance for any help you may give me. I've never used a forum before, but I just didn't know where else to turn. Many thanks.

Are you using Wi-Fi or an ethernet connection?

Wired ethernet on both networks. One network is at an office-all other computers run fine there and the replacement computer on the same line as the problem computer, runs fine. All computers here at home are running fine, except this one.

And all you have installed is XP? Two different network cards with different drivers and it's still having problems? This is a desktop or laptop?

Perform 3 speedtests here: http://www.speedtest.net and post the results here.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

speedtest results

download 23.13
upload .53
ping .46

And mysteriously it's now running perfectly fast here on my home network-and it wasn't when I originally posted.

I'm at a loss, both ethernet cards are now working fine. But I will take the computer back to the small office and test it again. At the office, I ran a different ethernet cable and still had the slowing problem. We'll see now. If it happens again what should I look for?

Could be a flaky port on your switch, or bad connector or punch down block at work, or cabling in the wall, etc.
