Help
I just got this last year, I finally opened it out of it's package back in July, Now it says it's gonna fail, I've had problems with the OS, when the motherboard starts up and the bios shows, It has some white dots and It completely fails to boot, This is a new hard drive and I'm not sure what to do.

Can you please post the make and model number of this hard drive.
It would also help if you posted some information on your computers make and model number.

A hard drive can fail at any time...or arrive DOA.
I just received a 1TB drive DOA 2 days ago...I just note the manufacturer and mentally make a note to not buy that manufacturer's drives at that size...next time. Shipping it back is more trouble than it's worth, IMO.
But a standard hard drive these days comes with a 3-year warranty, if you want to invesigate that route.
I suggest that you first...run the appropriate hard drive diagnostic before doing much of anything beyond making plans to move your data.
What's the exact message you receive?

As Luis suggested, you should run a diagnostic test on it. If you go the the website of the manufacturer of the hdd they should have a diagnostic tool that you can download and run. If there are two tests, long one and short one, run the long one for the most accurate results.
