I believe I have a virus that disabled my Etrust virus protection. It is a microsoft security essentials alert. It looks like the real thing except that it has an added feature to "scan online" because "clean computer" does not work. When I click on the "show details" after "clean", it is recommending I remove valid files, ie, my quick books, spyware doctor, etc.
I cannot get into internet or my outlook email account.
Any ideas on how to remove this? Or does anyone think it is a valid message ?

I would post a thread on Am I Infected? and get help determining if you still have malware on your machine. Recently I've seen a spat of machines that have programs that go undetected by scanners downloading more common malware such as the one you just removed. The malware gets removed, but the downloading task stays running, able to download more malware as it sees fit.
