Installed a label printer software + drivers, it froze once the computer finished installing. Had to force reboot it because it was locked up. It refuses to reboot. Got a stop error about a registry file failure (STOP:c0000218), figure I dont want to dick with it and just will reformat it. I ran the HD as a secondary on another PC and back up my data, put the HD back in it's computer, and try to boot from a CD. It won't boot from a CD. What gives? I pressed every freaking key at boot and nothing works. I made sure to set the boot order so that CD was first. I even tried making ever boot option from CD and it still won't work. Nothing ever pops up like "press any key to boot from CD." I tried the CD in another computer and it works. What do?

Just to ask whats probably a stupid question here, but what are you using to boot with? is it a genuine windows disc or a copy?

Along with what The_patriot09 asked the next question would be what happens if you used a liveCD, you would have to download one from the UBUNTU web site, if this disk is burned to a disk and put in the optical drive it should boot.
As for your operating system installation disk you say you are trying to boot to (Note: you did not specify what OS you are trying to install) is this OS on a bootable disk?

Here is a link to UBUNTU liveCD. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD

Bruce.
Please take notice. Oreo and I will not be available until June of 2012.
Thank you for understanding my absence, it is job and college related, so all is good. If I do not answer your PMs this is the reason why. See you all soon!

Bruce.
