I can't get this to work, I've read the tutorial,, downloader the SP3,,,downloaded nLite,
and I still cannot get it to work ,,IsoBuster I don't know what to do here and I don't know what happends in nlite.

Silly question and unfortunately it matters, what is the source of your WindowsXP SP2, it has to be an actual Windows XP installer from Microsoft, not the OEM disk provided by Dell or someone else.

"Unfortunately, for this step you can not use an OEM CD provided by your computer manufacturer (Dell, HP, etc)."

How did you install Windows the first time? (Was it a licensed copy?) So if you are using an OEM disk, it that what you used to do your cleam install? Because you may need to do the 'full format' install if some scripting is hiding in teh systems files.

If it says Windows XP then it is Windows XP, if it says that it is Windows XP Gold, then there are two options, one is that it is a release to manufacturers disk, the other is that it is a pirate copy. So when you say 'it is an original disk', original to where, whose purchase and license?

Whoo, guys lets not get bogged down here, let me start again and I will try to make it clearer, bear in mind that I'm still am on my L plates.

I had to borrow a Windows CD so as to be able to slipstream SP3.

What I got is:. Microsoft Windows XP Professional.in the hologram is written Genuine, inculdes service pack 2 ,plus For
Distridution with a new pc.

I was told this is what I needed for what I'm tring to achieve, as read in some of my articles and replies.

Not to quibble...but <<What I am using now is a Gold Win Pro XP sp2 ver 2002...>>

Those are the exact words you used...the Google results speak for themselves, IMO.

Ah ha I can see where one could mistake the problem, Gold is not a name used on the Windows oem but in the color or hologram.
my english was missed placed,

Anyhow I still need help with slipstream sp2-sp3, maybe whoever is going to help would like to start from the top of my thread go through it again
I would have thought Louis you would be right up there with my problem.

And a little more history is needed, sorry, if that disk was distributed by a manufacturer other than Microsoft, then it is likely not to work. When you neighbor purchsed it, received it or received it with the computer, it matters and if it was meant as an OEM disk or just a striaght up Windows install disk.

That needs to be resolved. Did your neighbor have the box or can they tell you more? What you have described could easily be a disk distributed with any number of machines at purchanse and not an actual straight up Windows install disk. It takes more than the hologram, some history would be helpful.

Guys lets get on with the job in hand and that is to fix my computer, we can throw the disk color around until the cows come home and
the only one who misses out is me, my computer needs fixing,

I guess we slipstream sp3 into sp2 thats the way I read it OK,OK lets put the nose to the gring stone walk me through the process,

I'm running Win Pro xp sp3, my disk is Win Pro xp sp2.

So help me first and argue about the color later bty I've been assured this disk is the one I need.

I really do not know...what you expect us to do...from our respective locations.

Post #43 gave you the pertinent information on how to slipstream XP to include SP3.

If you've read that...followed it...and still are unable to come up with the appropriate CD...something is amiss on your end that seeems to escape the board membership, IMO.
