I was having problems with recording dvd's in Xp MCE 2005 burn failures repeatedly. I google it and toggle off " Sonic DVD and CD Burning"

in ADD/REMOVE Programs and then tried toggling back on and Xp is asking me "Copy files from:

C:\WINDOWS\cmpnents\mediactr\i386

How can I remedy this.

Thanks,

Tony

rockmilk,

The program asked me to insert XP professional CD2. However I have a vendor copy of the recovery disk Gateway sent me when purchased the computer.

Is there any other way I might be able to obtain the necessary files the program needs?

thanks for your help

You will have to borrow a CD or point the program to the i386 drive on your factory cd.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
