I have an HP Proliant server running Windows 2003 Professional Edition. In the summer it came up with a low disk space warning and after clearing out all the junk I managed to claw back 12 GB in free space.

The problem I face is that the free space is likely to be used up by the end of the year. I need to install a bigger hard drive. At the moment the server has two 160GB SATA drives. One has two partitions on ( C Drive and E Drive). The other one is invisible so it must be set with a RAID configuration to mirror the other drive.

I want to use cloning software on it like Casper but I am concerned about the RAID configuration. What I understanf about RAID is limited, but I do realise I would have to install two identical hard drives for it to work.
How can I find out what the RAID setting is on the existing drives? I have looked at the HP array manager in Windows, but it says there are no devices attached.
How can I change the RAID config in order to allow me to clone the primary drive?
Once I have cloned the drive and put both the new drives in, how can I re-instate the RAID config so that the second drive mirrors the other?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you know how to access the RAID COntroller? It will prompt you to hit either ctrl+s to enter the hardware RAID Configuration and in there it should show you what the drives are set up as.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

First of all you need to know if its hardware or software RAID. You server model number would help as well as we have no idea what it supports.
