Recently I got help cleaning up my daughter's PC(that has Vista). and I never did the last optional step, the hostsman extra protection that is recommended in this thread:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...p;#entry1861668

and I decided to do it since my other PC went haywire (that I'm currently getting help for). Well, nothing happens when I click on the download button at the link that was provided. Does anyone else know if there is another one that might work? What happens is I click on the download button, answer yes to the security question and nothing happens. I tried both the installer version and the zipped version. same result. I tried PMing the person that was helping me but it's been a week so I thought I'd post it here. If this in the wrong forum, please move.

thanks for any help.

Maybe trying a different mirror, like this one, will help?

There are other Free Custom Hosts Files available for download. The MVPS HOSTS File zipped version includes a batch file (mvps.bat) that will rename the existing HOSTS file to HOSTS.MVP, then copy the included updated HOSTS file to the proper location. Just extract the zip file to the location applicable to your OS as shown in the Install Instructions and let it replace (overwirte) the existing hosts file.Note: You may have to overwrite the hosts file in "Safe Mode" if you get "an access denied message" when trying to do it in normal mode.
