Yes, it makes sense. I just wondered if it's something that could be changed? If you look at my post #29 in this thread, the --------------- is halfway through the box, and, if I understand you correctly, this will be set halfway through the box in any case where the answer box is a the set minimum size. You can see that on this page in several of the posts. The problem seems to occur in minimum answers, which is just where the signature has the most potential of being overbearing.
If you look up through this thread, any answer of a certain length or less appears to have the same size answer frame. For longer answers, the box gets larger to accomodate the larger answer and the distance between the signature and the base of the box is reduced. The way this works is not apparent to me, but it appears there is one signature-spacing rule for the standard minimum size answer box and a different rule of signature placement for answers which take up more than the minimum space. Since it is precisely in the minimum - small answer - boxes where the signature is a particular distraction from the content of the message, it would be nice if it could be moved down somehow in the same way it is when the box gets bigger.
Don't know if this is possible/impossible, difficult or easy, or if anyone but me cares.
