First I would love to welcome one and all of our new members to Bleeping Computer! Just in case I've forgotten some of you. Since it is becoming so hard to give a personal welcome to all. As there are sooo many of you. :thumbsup:

But anyway back to the subject at hand. I thought that I would post this to help out those of you who seem to be having some trouble w/ your font, size, & color choices etc. Here is a simple screenshot pointing out how you can get to the BB Code Help.
Before you know it you will be able to do it from memory. :huh:

Once you get the hang of the BB Color Code. You may want to expand your color horizon of the BB Code. This link will take you to a complete HTML True Color Chart.

Complete HTML True Color Chart

Tip: When applying the basic BB Color Code, available when posting on Bleeping Computer. It will look like this.

[COLOR=green]Hello[/COLOR]

Hello

When using the many choices within the Complete HTML Color Chart. It will look like this.

Instead of applying the name of the color as part of the code. Insert the numeric color code.

[color=#336633]Hello[/color]

Hello

When choosing a specific font, It will look like this.

[font=comic sans ms]Hello[/font]

hello

When you want to choose a specific size for your text. This is the BB Code to use.

[size=3]Hello[/size]

Hello

Now for creating bold text. Use this code when doing so.

[b]Hello[/b]

Hello

For italic text. Use this code.

[i]Hello[/i]

Hello

And last but not least, the code to underline text.

[u]Hello[/u]

Hello

Now let's use all of the above BB Code together.

[color=green][font=comic sans ms][size=4][b][i][u]This is how it will look prior to posting.[/u][/i][/b][/size][/font][/color]

This would be the outcome of applying all of the above code.

Note: When someone states that "tags" are not closed. They are speaking of applying BB Code incorrectly.

One other thing I'd like to mention is how to post a hyperlink/URL.

Hyperlink code:

[url=http://www.bleepingcomputer.com]Bleeping Computer.com[/url]

Bleeping Computer.com

You can use the BB Code in this also.

[url=http://www.bleepingcomputer.com][b][color=green]Bleeping Computer.com[/color][/b][/url]

For those using Mozilla, there is a BBCode extension that works on the BC forums. Highlight the text and choose just about any option or colour.

John

Personally I found it easier to do it manually ( I did have this extension at one time.) because I found it took too long to navigate through the right click menu.

The help button is on the right now, not to the left.

Picky, picky, picky!! :thumbsup:

You'll probably find, that several of the tutorials are outdated, since the new forum software upgrade.
We will try to update them, as time allows.

Sorry, I was trying to learn after getting frustrated with trying to code it properly and noticed it wasn't where Scarlett's image showed. If you think I am picky let Didom coach you!!! :thumbsup:

I understand we should do this manually. Isn't there a text editor with BBCode which can make it faster by clicking the wanted code on the menu bar or toolbar and filling the plain text inside the codes?

I am editing this because I found two editors. I am going to play with one of them (BBCoder 3.0.0.0) and get back with findings.
Meanwhile if someone has a better option I am looking forward to that.

tg already mentioned it. bbcode and bbcode extra are the ones to go by if you are a ff user. naturally they sometimes are disabled when an update has been made and an addon not working with it until updated. however, i find external applications far to time consumig. the buttons for bold, italic, underlined etc pp are here as well. just highlight and click. alternatively, try to use ctrl b for bold, ctrl i for italic or ctrl u for underlined. works for me. atleast in this forum. i am in several forums that utilise different forum software, so its not always practicable to use the same format on every board :(

-edit- i do use fass beta if i have to prepare a certain type of post at boards where i get logged out after a while. lost too much data :thumbsup: last time i used the editor on the board itself. otherwise i find fass "too slow" when replying to logs :huh:

Thanks yourhighness, this is the third time you come to my rescue and I appreciate that. I didn't find the time to do anything with BBCoder. I may go along with your suggestion and use the site editor, the other day I wanted to insert a link with a hyperlink and it wouldn't come right because I had no needed concentration. So I thought for people in a hurry like me there may be an easier way. But I am going to make one for that particular case, add it to Phrase express and use as a ready made link maker and just filling inside it. The rest (bold, utalic, and underline) are right infront of me and on the keyboar using Cntr+* as you mentioned.

As the program itself seems devoid of 'user- helpful -hints 'has anyone found a User Manual for the Pawsoft program ?
