I just got a new computer (laptop) that has windows 7 on it. I have an older lexmark printer that I really like, nothing fancy, just solid that I want to use. I tried to connect it (using usb) to the new computer but the drivers don't work for windows 7. I looked on lexmark site and it said to use their universal printer driver but can't seem to find it. I also looked at the windows 7 compatibility site and it said I didn't need to do anything, that the printer would work fine, obviously that isn't correct.
When I plugged it in it tried to install the printer but said drivers were missing so when I unplug and replug it in the computer just sees it as a device not printer.
any help would be great
Thanks a lot

Here is the article http://support.lexmark.com/index?id=FA689&...erlocale=EN_US+
Driver availability This driver is available for download from Lexmark.com via the "Downloads" path.
To which there is none.
I know my Lexmark Z52 worked through Windows update, some how Windows update found a driver that worked and even installed the printer software.
I was in the same boat with Windows 7. But my printer works.
By the way, my drivers disk is so old, it was intended for a DOS shell operation system such as Windows Me. The software even used to talk to me, saying "printing started" or "Printing complete"
I kind of miss that guy...he never talked again since I went NTFS with Windows XP. LOL

Thank you for understanding my absence, it is job and college related, so all is good. If I do not answer your PMs this is the reason why. See you all soon!
