Does anyone know who makes/sells a mouse in which one of the buttons can be programmed for a double-click (so I would just click the button one time to get a double-click effect)? Thank you. Murrar

You can do that from inside of Windows
Open My Computer
Go to Tools - Folder Options
Put the bullet in Single click
Items are then underlined that are single clickable

In the beginning there was the command line.

Putting the bullet in single-click only works when I am on a web site. I want a mouse with a button that has a single click when I am on a computer game. Murrar

The single and double click function is controlled by the operating system. To knowledge, they don't have a mouse that is designed to replicate a double click with one click.
Eyesee's suggestion is about as good as it gets. Most of what you click on will work with the single click after you change the setting, but there will always be some functions that will require a double click.
