Hello,
I have a laptop with HDMI and VGA connection.
I want to have a VCR connect to my laptop and watch it from my laptop.
What would be the requirements to achieve this?
I've been researching and found that you need this Analog to Digital converter box. Is there a way where we can not use a converter box and just use something like HDMI or any other cables to watch on my laptop from the VCR?

The easiest way to connect the VCR is via a USB tuner. A S-video cable comes from the VCR to the USB tuner, a USB cable goes from the tuner to the laptop.
I did a quick Google and found lots of tuners available.

In a word, no. The laptop connections are outputs to drive a monitor. You'll need to use the converter as suggested.
