Hey all,

I was given a Dell Optiplex GX260 with a Pentium 4 2.53GB, Windows XP Pro, and an HP Pavilion F1503 monitor. Ever since I got it, I have not been able to change the display resolution to anything other than 640x480. In fact, it's the only choice, period.

When I go into the device manager, it does not recognize the video card being used, so I don't know how to get an updated driver.

I hope I gave enough info to go on. Not sure where to go from here.

Thanks in advance!!

Hello and welcome to Bleepingcomputer.

Here is your Dell Optiplex GX260 Desktop computer's support page.

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...tid=&impid=

It appears you have an ATI Radeon 7500 video card.

There is also a recommended Intel driver in the list. Just expand the VIDEO tab on this web site I posted above.

Bruce.
Please take notice. Oreo and I will not be available until June of 2012.
Thank you for understanding my absence, it is job and college related, so all is good. If I do not answer your PMs this is the reason why. See you all soon!

Bruce.

I just tried the link again it took me to a desktop computer.

The image shows a computer tower.

Actually I am seeing the same computer on both links.

I tried the link I posted above on another computer and it still showed a desktop computer.

I see that caperjac, that is strange.

I only use IE 8.0, I am hoping either way that Happy Place gets to the correct page either way.

Thanks as always for your input, it does help.
