BleepingComputer.com: New Acer and My Book (WD) communication problem

I just got a new computer and have a new My book home edition. connection is through sata on mobo to bracket for esata and on to my book. when i first turned it on, everything worked fine. then we had a huge power outage the entire county was x the power for a few hours to a few days. once the power came on, it also "blinked" a couple of times. neither the computer nor my book show any damage. i did have to reconnect my book to be recognized. now, every time computer goes in standby, my book is not shown as one of the drives when i wake it up.

is there a setting of some sort or somethng else that i am not aware of? what do i need to check/do to fix it? TIA
