Its an HP Pavillion 9000 wide screen about 2 yr old.

Back in June the switch on the built in wireless card stopped working it is now in the off postion. No problem I picked up a wireless usb one to use.
Also about the same time I had to open the task manager to get any where.

Now trying to turn it on for the last five minutes it sounds like it is trying to start but will not. It just starting the fan then you hear a tick then does that all over again.

It has now started up but it took longer that usual to get going.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I did get some malware on it in the past but I think I got that taken care of thanks to this site

With the information you have provided I believe you will need help from the malware removal team. I would like you to start a new thread and post a DDS log HERE and include a link to this thread. Please make sure that you read the information about getting started before you start your thread.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient. Help is on the way!
