Maybe no one has answered this question, which I posted on Monday, because it doesn't happen to very many people, but it happened to me and I am desperate for help.
My Dell Latitude D620 laptop has an early version of Vista Home Basic, and it came with a Voice to Text program that wasn't very good but was better than nothing, and I used it frequently.
When I tried to open it up on Monday, it had totally disappeared and no search of any kind has found it. I don't know how I'll do without it and I can't afford to buy one.
I can't reinstall Vista because I bought this computer on ebay (HUGE mistake) and it didn't come with any disks. That's a whole 'nother story.
What can I do now?

Very kind of you to answer this, but I need speech to text, in other words, I need to have it type what I say.

Windows Vista has speech recognition software built into it: http://www.microsoft.com/enable/products/w...sta/speech.aspx
As for finding what's missing, it would be helpful to know what the name of the program is.

Yes, I know it has it built into it. I used it for a couple of years until it just disappeared, completely disappeared. How do I get just that program back?
