Our HP purchased in April, has started giving us this message on every boot up, even in safe mode. I've sent it to Microsoft, of course.
I've tried downloading Windows Explorer 8, which seemed to go Ok, but upon reboot I received the same error message.
Then it was followed by a new one "Dr. Watson's Postmorem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience."
This I also sent to Microsoft. When I look at the error signature for the first error (Windows Explorer) it tells me the following:
App name: Explore.exe App Ver. 6.0.2900.5512 Mod name: user32.dll
Mod ver. 5.1.260.5512 Offset 000d9d9

I did not open the same on the Dr Watson because by this time I was feeling a little jittery about it. I'm running the AVG free anti virus now and may move on to combo fix.

Does anyone out there have a suggestion? Like I say I'm on the user side of the fence, but I'm forced to come over to the IT side once and a while where I get lost.

Thanks in advance! Gale.Wynd

ComboFix is an extremely powerful tool which should only be used when instructed to do so by someone who has been properly trained. ComboFix is intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision of an expert", NOT for private use. Please read Combofix's Disclaimer. Using this tool incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again.

This is not Internet Explorer, this is Windows explorer.

If this has only been happening for a few weeks try doing a System Restore.

Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> System Restore.

When this opens make sure that "Restore my computer to an earlier time" is chosen, and click on Next>.

The dates appearing in bold are the dates that you can restore to, click on the date that you want and then click Next> to start the System Restore. This may take a long time to complete, and when it is done it will restart your computer. When the computer restarts and you have logged on as the administrator a Restoration Complete page will appear, click on OK to complete the process.
