disc not recognized blue ray

my computer will not recognize the blue ray disc. it will play dvds and cd. i have tried powerdvd, hp media start, and total theater and none will play blue-ray disc. when i tire to load poer dvd i get message3 error 00002711 cannot load resImage.dll the other two programs will not even open either. eveything is messed up hp cant help cyberlink(poerdvd) cannt help. tried to restore to earlier date did not work. please help. win76-64

Is the DVD drive on your pc Blue Ray compatible?

yes it is compatible. when i try load power dvd i get message UNABLE TO LOAD RES_IMAGE.DLL

Open device manager and see if there are any yellow flags or red x's next to the DVD device. Double click the dvd device in device manager and see if it is working ok.

What is the make and model of the optical drive?

What type of pc is this, HP, DELL......? What OS are you using and service pack? Is the DVD original to the pc?

hp with 8gb ram- all original equippment. win 7x64 op system
