Vista Opening Folder Lag?

Whenever I open a folder explorer freezes for 5 seconds before the folder opens. Even if the folder is empty it still lags. My AV and Malware scans have come up clean. Is this normal? because i never noticed this before.

Yes any folder no matter what it has. Even an empty folder has this lag.

Download, and install ShellExView: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html
Open it. Click on Type column to sort all entries.
Right click, and Disable all non-Microsoft Context Menu types entries.
Restart computer, and see, if it helps.

Please, post some computer info:
- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")
- security programs in use (antivirus, firewall)

Processor - Intel Pentium Dual Core T2060 1.6 Ghz
Ram - 2 Gigs
Free space - 26.7gb out of 73gb
Online Armor Firewall and Eset NOD32

Restart computer in safe mode and see, if you have same lag.

Still has the lag. I think its explorer in general that has the lag because things like control panel and windows system rating have this lag too. Do you want me to take a video to show you what its like?

For testing purposes, I'd try to uninstall (one at a time) Online Armor and NOD and see what happens.

I'd uninstall them.
The reason for it...today's security programs build themselves very deep into file system and often disabling them is not enough to make sure, nothing is really running.
