I am setting up my Charter email account on my work computer, and I am able to receive emails but not send from that account. I also have my domain email setup with Outlook which uses Exchange server and works just fine.

When I do a test settings I get:
Send test e-mail message: Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

Here are the Charter server settings: http://www.charter.com/customers/support.a...tArticleID=1417

I have also tried using port 2525 instead of just 25 for outgoing, with no luck.

Any reasons why? Would it be the network I am on? I have it set up at home with Outlook 2010 and it works fine.

Thanks!

Is this normal, and could someone explain why. This is from the Charter chat support:

TTD April : Mail relaying is the practice of using Charter mail servers to send mail (SMTP) from a non Charter IP space, or from domains not hosted by Charter Communications. Relaying is not allowed by Charter. If a Charter customer is connected to the internet not provided by Charter, accessing e-mails should be done at http://www.charter.net, or the customer must change the outgoing mail server (smtp.charter.net) to the service provider's outgoing mail server.

I am not on Charter internet connection at work, it is a different company...
