Hi everyone! I'm new to this website!

My parents laptop has a lot of dirt and dust stuck in it. I used a vacuum cleaner on the keyboard to try and suck as much as I could out. But I'm nervous NEVER TAKING A COMPUTER APART BEFORE.

I would like to try it and figure it out. WITHOUT BREAKING THE LAPTOP.

Any advice to do-it-myself?

Thank you everyone! Thank you for helping me!
I'm sorry that I don't understand how computers and websites work.

Suggest you review your computer's manual before opening up the computer.

Here is one how to for a HP computer and I am sure there are others for other brands.

If you are experiencing overheating or noisy fan and you have cleaned the vents that would be reason enough
for opening up and cleaning. If the vents are clear and no overheating, I would forgo the interior cleaning.
