It's fairly well known that different types of malware can "kill" antivirus products in various ways. These kinds of malware are known as "retro viruses." In order to step things up a notch, some malware is utilizing legitimate software uninstallers to trick users into uninstalling legitimate security products. The widely distributed rogue antivirus known as CoreGuard Antivirus has released a new clone called AnVi Antivirus, which is utilizing a social engineering technique to trick users into uninstalling many well known antivirus products, including solutions by Symantec, Microsoft, AVG, Spyware Doctor, and Zone Labs.
