Inspiron 1545 restarts when shutdown

Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop and when the ac adapter is plugged in to it and I shut it down it will start up again as soon as it is shutdown. However when the ac adapter is not connected and it is on battery power it shuts down just fine. Any suggestions?
