Did you clean install...XP...onto this hard drive from a different system?
And, as mentioned, install the appropriate drivers?
A "new hard drive" does not normally refer to one taken from a different system.

so far, this is what i have. it's lenovo website. lenovo took over ibm.

it looks like these are your chipset (SMBus) drivers. it's usually good practice to install them first.

these are video drivers. since you say your processor is intel, i would guess that's the video driver that you need. usually if it's wrong, it won't "take" anyway.
