This self-help guide will walk you through the steps to remove Comet Cursor



What this program does:

Comet Cursor states that it tracks the usage of this tool anonymously. Due to this many users want to uninstall it.


Symptoms in a HijackThis Log:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http ://files.cc.cometsystems.com/assist/cc....html
O2 - BHO: CSBHO - {D14D6793-9B65-11D3-80B6-00500487BDBA} - C:\PROGRA~1\Comet\Bin\csbho.dll
O3 - Toolbar: Comet Toolbar - {FE6BC4EF-5676-484B-88AE-883323913256} - C:\PROGRA~1\Comet\Bin\csietb.dll
O16 - DPF: {D14D6793-9B65-11D3-80B6-00500487BDBA} (CSBHO Class) - http ://files.cc.cometsystems.com/cc2/relea...g




Removal Instructions:

Remove this program through the provided Add/Remove Programs entry. To uninstall it follow these steps:
  1. Enter the control panel.
  2. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs link.
  3. Double-click on the entry for Comet Cursor to uninstall it..
  4. When that is finished double-click on Comet Toolbar to start the uninstall routine.
  5. It will ask if you would like to remove certain sections. Select the option for Click here to completely uninstall Comet Toolbar
  6. Then press the continue button.
  7. When it is done, reboot your computer and you should no longer have it installed.


Comet Cursor should no longer be installed on your computer.
