The best way to tell if you have an internet connection is to try pinging an outside (internet) source.
Try this:
Try this:
- Click Start
- Click Run
- type cmd
- type ping google.com

You could try several sites just to make sure.
ping yahoo.com
ping cs.com
ping cox.com
