Hi,

not sure if this is right but here we go. I have a emachine 620 laptop AMD 2650e 1.60 GHz processor

installed RAM 2.00 GB

32 bit windows 7 home premium os. i upgraded from vista thought it might stop the blue screens.

Pretty much everytime I watch any video, netflix, tvshows, it blue screens me out after a while. or it will continue to run and when I shut down the BSOD comes up.

any help will be really appreciated. I am a junior pc tech so i understand a bit. but I have been having this same problem since the day i got it in 2008. By the way the BSOD is always a different set of numbers and words I had windows look at it and they said no problems.

Thanks for any help

Download BlueScreenView http://nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Bruce.
Please take notice. Oreo and I will not be available until June of 2012.
Thank you for understanding my absence, it is job and college related, so all is good. If I do not answer your PMs this is the reason why. See you all soon!

are you use show Hidden and System files in Windows Explorer???
if not please change your folder option and uncheck show hidden and system files...
and try to open C:\Minidump
if no log file in there...please dont use any cleaner/registry software...dont use disk clean up too...
and please check does Write debugging information is check or not...
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click System.
3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
4. In the Write debugging information list, click Small memory dump (64k).

and please tell what you mean with create the minidump in registry and please do not do it again for a while...

Your crash is related to your video driver as indicated below.

File Description : ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver
Product Name : ATI Radeon Family
Company : ATI Technologies Inc.
File Version : 7.01.01.798

What exactly do you have for a video card? I know its an ATI brand, but what model number is it?

Bruce.
Please take notice. Oreo and I will not be available until June of 2012.

Go to this link for eMachines support. http://www.emachines.com/support/drivers.html choose notebook, then D series from the list, then D620. (sorry I can not link you directly, web site does not allow that)

Once you have these selected you should see a list of downloads for your D620 Notebook, look for VGA next to it is ATI VGA, it should show version number 8.512. Click the green down button at the left side of this driver to download this version. You should get a download box to download the zip file, save it to your desktop and extract it to another folder on your desktop.

Uninstall the 7.01.01.798 version of your video driver by going to device manager.

Restart your computer, you should now have standard video resolution on the screen, go back to device manager and right click your VGA and choose update video driver and point it to your folder you unzipped your VGA drivers to. Allow the drivers to install and restart.

Please let us know if this fixed your problem.

If the video card is integrated with the motherboard then there should be native drivers that can be reinstalled.

I installed the driver version number 8.512. and uninstalled the other one. I hope it helps. If not would I have to use my recovery discs to get the native drivers. the would I be back to vista the original OS? then do my windows 7 upgrade.

Thank you guys for the assistance so far.
