Trying to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows XP after having formatted the drive. I must have fouled up the partitions somehow because I either get a "error loading operating system" or "ummountable boot volume" when trying to install XP (SP2) using bootable floppies. The CD is not being read for some reason, thus the floppies. I am using Cute Partition Manager to view my partitions, nothing else seems to allow me to view them.

Can somebody out there take me under their wing?

Dell Inspiron XPS Laptop

What model XPS laptop, please?

Did you follow the Dell instructions for reinstalling Windows?

Did you run Dell Diagnostics on the hard drive...either before or after deciding to format/reinstall?

Why did you feel it necessary to format/reinstall?

Louis
