I dunno....I've heard that it can go both ways (leaving on or shutting off) and that either way is or could be bad for a computer.

However, I asked someone this same question about a year ago......computer parts are electircal, and operate similar to a lightbulb. When does a lightbulb blow 9999 out of 10000 times? When you turn it on.

Either way, I'm not sure. I shut my computer down at night if I think of it. If I leave it on for a day or two, or a month or so, no big deal.

Just my humble opinion
War produces veterans, wounded both physically and mentally. They have sacrificed for us.....and it is now our job to help these veterans, as they have already helped us in ways we will never know, in ways that we cannot fathom, and in ways that we take granted every day.

Rogue4Twenty mentioned EZ Armor. Isn't that made up of entirely Zone Labs products, branded under the eTrust name?

I usually shut my down at night to save power, and because my laptop's fans are loud and I have a roommate, and we're both trying to sleep.

I've had a few occasions when my computer froze up after being on stand-by too long, and similarily, froze up when it was on the screensaver too long. These are rare, but they do happen and it makes me a little nervous. So I just shut it down at night.
