*Most every other language gets a plural 'you'. Why not english?

I've been getting hooked on learning to interact with my computer, an older laptop I recieved as a gift. Trying to streamline and disinfect it b4 partitioning and adding some kinda' GNU system. Probably some flavor of linux. Finally growing out of a long S,D, & RR art-music-party phase and getting back to my nerd roots. My Dad's a retired science teacher and my brother is a computer engineer/programmer, so it's probably in my genes. : }

I've been repeatedly referred to BleepingComputer by search engines while researching files and processes on my PC (a Balance/ECS A535 laptop running XP Home SP3) and more recently other info sites (ie.: remove-malware.com) while researching combofix. (yeah, ran it. But I did it on my tippy toes, slowly, with a net, and wearing a helmet.) : }

Anyway, it feels good to be here. Wish me luck in the land of 1 & 0's,
-DaKev-

p.s. hail Eris, praise Bob, and try not to panic ; }

p.p.s. I really am a newb. How do I post this?! ergh....

p.p.p.s. Ahh! scroll down farther. (cha-grin :thumbsup:

English does have a plural (well at least in some parts of the country): you all, pronounces y'all.
Welcome to BC!
Regards,
John

Hi John,

Yeah, that's kinda' what I was getting at. Promoting "y'all" as a valid word north of the mason-dixon line is kinda' a personal campaign for me.
I like your signature line. "Whereof one cannot speak..." Reminds me that my vocabulary exceeds my experience. Especially with computers.

Thanks for the feedback,
-Kevin-

p.s. I haven't played with programming since a smidgen of BASIC the late '80s. Any advice on where to start exploring in 2010? JAVA, HTML, C Sharp (My lil' bro uses it. Easy feedback.), etc. I've appreciated alot of the free utilities, browser add-ons/extenions etc. that people have written and shared and would like to contribute as well. (ie.: "Hmmph, I wish I could..." + "I could write an X to do Y" = a new "Z")
