Hi,

can I use the "fixmbr" command using an XP pro OEM CD on a PC that has XP Pro retail installed on it?

(both OS's are 32-bit).

Yes.

The fixmbr command is part of the XP Recovery Console.

Whether you use a retail/OEM MS XP Pro/Home CD...whether you download the Recovery Console and burn it to disk...it's the same tool.
